Pediatric to Adult Transition Care
Since 2010, Dr. Katzberg has been a lead in the Neuromuscular Pediatric to Adult Transition Care program at the University of Toronto, successfully transitioning over 500 neuromuscular patients into adult care. The team’s findings and experiences were published and shed light on the numerous systemic challenges faced during such transitions, underlining the essential role of specialized support in managing acquired and herediatry conditions.
Dr. Katzberg now serves is a co-lead of the Division of Neurology Transition Care Task Force for all neurology sub-specialties at the University of Toronto, He has organized and chaired symposia on transition care in neurology and is now co-lead along with pediatric and adult colleagues on an initiative to develop a web based resource for neurologists, health care providers, patients and families involved in pediatric to adult neurological transition care.
