Dr. Katzberg has collaborated with respiratory and sleep specialists to establish the best strategies for screening respiratory dysfunction in neuromuscular clinics and pulmonary function laboratories — including assessment of sleepiness and sleep-disordered breathing using in-hospital polysomnography and home sleep strategies, and work with pediatric colleagues to identify occult sleep apnea in children with myasthenia gravis.

Education & advocacy
Professor of medicine (neurology) at the University of Toronto, active in training medical students, residents and fellows in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine, and an associate member of the Institute of Medical Science (IMS). A speaker and lecturer nationally and internationally, he sits on medical advisory boards of neuromuscular organizations including the GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada and Myasthenia Gravis Society, and contributes to continuing education through podcasts, webinars, book chapters, and authorship for the AAN, Continuum, Practical Neurology, Neurologic Clinics, and Medscape.
